Schedule a meeting with Milton Ridge's pastry chef/cake decorator to discuss your wedding cake.
Hire a wedding coordinator to plan small details of wedding, if desired.
Compile your guest list, and organize addresses.
Finalize your wedding date.
Choose attendants.
Order dresses and accessories, including veil and shoes.
Decide on music for wedding... will you be using the CD player or musicians?
Plan and book honeymoon.
Send save-the-date cards, if using.
FOUR to SIX months ahead....
Arrange transportation for the wedding day.
Order stationery, including invitations and thank-you notes
Book calligrapher, if using.Register for gifts.
Purchase wedding rings.
Purchase or reserve groom's attire.
Choose attendants' attire.
Buy stockings and any special lingerie your dress requires.
Choose favors.
Book a room for the wedding night.
Choose gifts for wedding party.
Reserve accommodations for out of town guests.
Sign up for dance lessons, if desired.
TWO to FOUR months ahead...
Discuss service with officiant.
Choose reading for ceremony.
Write your wedding vows, if you choose.
Schedule rehearsal time and rehearsal dinner.
Try out makeup and hairstyle.
Mail invitations.
Write thank you notes as gifts arrive.
ONE to TWO months ahead...
Decide on your menu
Complete Milton Ridges questionnaire, DJ planning form, reception hall seating plan, and photography request form.
Buy a guest book.
Have programs printed.
Obtain marriage license from Montgomery County Courthouse and request certified copies.
If you intend to change your name, prepare the necessary documents.
Send change of address information to Post Office, if necessary.
TWO weeks ahead...
Give Milton Ridge the guaranteed number of guests and your final catering payment.
Have final dress fitting with shoes, accessories, and lingerie.
Write place cards.
Write toasts for rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.
Address announcements.
Break-in your wedding shoes at home.
Find out where your quests will be staying, if you plan to deliver welcome notes or gifts to their rooms.
ONE week ahead...
Finalize seating plan and let Milton Ridge know of any changes.
Assign specific responsibilities, such as handing out corsages and boutonnieres, to member of your wedding party. Assign two people to hold the chapel doors for the wedding party to enter chapel. Assign someone to operate the CD player if necessary. Assign escorts to stand at the chapel to direct your guests to the front chapel doors and someone to direct guests from the
chapel to the reception hall.
Pick up your dress or have it delivered.
Confirm honeymoon arrangements and give your itinerary to a friend or family member in case of emergency.
Pack for honeymoon.
Update Milton Ridge catering with final guest and vendor meal counts.
ONE day ahead...
Confirm transportation arrangements for ceremony and reception.
Give announcements to an attendant for mailing after the wedding.
Have a manicure and pedicure.
Rehearse ceremony.
Hold rehearsal dinner; give gifts to wedding party. If you choose, give gifts to parents to thank them for their support.
