Unique Wedding Tips
Okay, so you’ve got the ring and the planning is underway, but something about the phrase “traditional wedding ceremony” just doesn’t get your pulse racing. Well, we’ve got great news for you - the year 2007 is all about “out with the old, in with the new”! Couples are no longer bound by traditional guidelines when planning their Big Day. In fact, the sky is the limit when it comes to making your wedding day one of a kind! Here are just a few unique tips to help you create the wedding of your dreams.
1. Have your bridesmaids wear the same dresses, in different colors. This adds a little flair to the ceremony, while allowing your special ladies to pick the color most flattering to them. This is an especially great touch during the summer months, when you can choose from an array of pastel colors to match the beautiful shades of summer! Another variation of this idea is to choose different styles of dresses in matching colors. Again, this adds a unique touch to the ceremony, while letting your bridesmaids showcase their individual style.
2. Incorporate a wedding slideshow into the ceremony, or even the rehearsal dinner. This can include photos of you and your fiancé in various stages of your lives, and then as you came together as a couple, all set to the music of your choice. This is a really beautiful and moving way to pay tribute to your relationship, and to celebrate your love.
3. Honor your parents during the wedding ceremony. Each write a letter to your respective parents, and set aside time within the ceremony to read it aloud. There won’t be dry eye in the house! This is a great way to say a special thank you to your parents, since by the time the wedding rolls around, most parents have invested quite a bit of time and money into making your wedding day one to remember.
4. Add special touches, unique to you and your fiancé, to the reception. How about writing a little note, months before the wedding, to each wedding guest, asking them to send you a picture of their own wedding day? You can then frame the pictures and put the corresponding couple’s photo on the table in which they will be seated at the reception. This is guaranteed to be a very powerful and moving tribute to each couple, and a reminder to them of the magic of their own wedding day. Special touches like these can truly make your wedding day one that people will be talking about for years to come!
5. Remember, it is your day, and you want to make it as memorable as possible. Things like releasing doves into the air at your reception, blowing bubbles instead of throwing rice, and providing your guests with disposable cameras so they can capture moments you might otherwise miss all add up to a day you will never forget.
